  • Onion – 2 medium (sliced)
  • Rice Flour – 1 big spoon
  • Gram Flour (Besan) – 3 big spoons
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 big spoon
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Red Food Colour – A pinch (optional)
  • Lemon Juice – 3 tablespoons

 Step 1: Preparing the Chicken

  • Take ½ garlic clove, crush it, and add it to a bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon turmeric, and 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste.
  • Mix well with boneless chicken pieces.
  • Let it marinate for at least 1 hour. This helps the chicken absorb all flavors.

Tip: The longer you marinate, the better the taste. 2 hours is even better.

 Step 2: Add Onion & Flours

  • Add 2 medium-sized sliced onions to the marinated chicken.
  • Now add:
    • 1 big spoon rice flour
    • 3 big spoons gram flour (besan)
  • Rice flour makes it extra crispy.
  • Besan gives that classic pakora taste.

 Step 3: Spice it Up

  • Add 1 big spoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • Add 1 teaspoon red chilli powder (for heat)
  • Add 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Add a pinch of red food colour (optional for nice color)
  • Finally, squeeze 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Mix everything very well with your hands. Make sure every piece of chicken is coated nicely.

 You may add a little water if the mixture feels too dry. But usually, onions and lemon juice are enough for moisture.

  • After mixing all ingredients, let the chicken rest again for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • This second marination helps in locking all spices into the chicken.

 Step 5: Frying Time

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
  • Keep the flame low to medium.
  • Slowly add chicken pieces one by one.
