Step 1: Boil the Dal

Tadka Process

- Then add 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and wait till they splutter.it is important for the dal fry
- Add 1 cup finely chopped onions and fry till golden brown.it get better test while eating
- Then add 2 finely chopped medium tomatoes. this is also important for the dal fry
Tomatoes are slightly tangy. If you don’t like the sourness, add a little sugar. it give you good test

- 2 green chilies 1½ tsp coriander powder it is better for the test
- 1 tsp red chili powder this is also for the test and also for the good colure
- 1 tsp garam masala (she uses Kitchen King Masala)
- Few curry leaves (these should ideally be added earlier)
